Limpompo N1 road continues to claim lives

27 people, among them 2 children have perished while 2 others are seriously injured on the N1 mookgopong road accident outside modimoe Limpompo on Friday 19th October around 14:30 hours.
Police spokesperson colonel Moatshe Ngoepa confirmed the incidence. Ngoepa said that the accident involved a truck which was carrying cement, 22 seater Benz and a Nissan NP200 killing more than 20 people on the spot from all the 3 vehicles including the 2 children. He also said that his team is working round the clock to establish the cause of the accident. Ngoepa also said that the road has since been closed to enable the smooth operations of investigations.
However, Limpompo department of transport spokesperson Matome Moremi told News 24 that the accident happened when the driver of the truck failed to keep it on the road after a front tyre bust.
Meanwhile the four survivors were rushed to various hospitals in South Africa where they are receiving medical attention.
The accident happened barely a month after a Zambian Royal bus services overturned on Monday 17th September in Limpompo South Africa killing 11 Zambians on the spot and injuring several others. This was also followed by another bus that claimed more than 10 lies in a space of one week.
