KENYATA for enhanced trade

Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyata has called for the removal of barriers that hinder international trade.Mr. Kenyata has appealed to officers working at international borders to work extra hard in implementing instruments that can enhance trade between Zambia and Kenya.The Kenyan leader has also called for the continued signing of multi- and bilateral agreements that promote international trade among nations.
Mr Kenyata said he is happy that Zambia and Kenya have continued to enjoy close ties both in trade and in governance systems.Mr. Kenyata has observed that the two sister countries have shown commitment in promoting democracy and freedom of speech. He was speaking in Ndola this afternoon when he graced this year’s Zambia International Trade Fair.
Mr Kenyata has also invited the Zambian Business Community to go and exhibit at the Nairobi International Trade Fair slated for September this year. He said the fair will afford Zambian exhibitors a chance to show case their products to other markets in the region.
And Commerce Minister Margaret Mwanakatwe commended President KENYATA for accepting to be the guest of honour at this year’s fair.Mrs. Mwanakatwe described Mr Kenyata as an entrepreneur, reformer and a great leader.
She stated that Zambia envies Kenyan government for its robust measures that have been put in place to improve the living conditions of its people.
Earlier, Zambia International Trade Fair Chairperson Emmanuel Hachipuka said this year’s fair has recorded 501 exhibitors with foreign exhibitors coming from 17 countries.
