HIGH COURT ADJOURNS ON ,SKELTON WOMAN CASE .

Lusaka high court judge Anna Ononuju says the rulling in the matter not be read out today, the decision which  has captured public attention, will now be delivered on February 25,2026.

Sylvia Mutaba who has been in custody since her arrest is faces charges of manslaughter of her husband George Kalaba, whose skeletal remains were discovered in her house in January 2025, at their residence in Garden-Luagwa area two years after he was last seen.Mutaba has constantly denied allegations against her, challenging the prosecution to establish a clear cause of death.

The case took a dramatic turn when suspicions arose from Kalaba's brother, Emmanuel who reported being denied access to his brother multiple times between July 2023 and January 2025.Concerns escalated when a neighbour revealed that Kalaba had not been seen for an extended period, prompting police intervention.

In a related development, Mutaba's three daughters, Wendy Kalaba 27 , Sandra Kalaba 22, Natasha Kalaba 19 and a neighbour Preteria Mbandama Musela were initially charged with failing to report Kalaba's death. They pleaded guilty and were sentenced to one (1)month imprisonment with hard labour. However having already served five (5) months in custody, they were realesed shortly after sentencing as it counted from the day of their arrest.

As the legal proceedings continues, the public remains divided on the case many are calling for justice for George Kalaba, while others expresses sympathy for Mutaba, who is facing grave accusations. The postponement of the judgment has left many questions unanswered and the community is eager to see how the case unfolds in the coming days.
