Fr. Mofya Questions Bishop Kalesha’s Motives, Urges Reflection on True Service

‎A Catholic priest has publicly expressed concern over the actions of Mr. Kalesha, whom he accuses of prioritising personal and family interests over genuine service to the nation and the Church.

‎In a statement, Fr. Adrian Mofya said he was “disheartened by Mr. Kalesha’s actions,” noting that although Kalesha presents himself as a bishop, his behaviour raises questions about his commitment to serving the people of Zambia and God.

‎Fr. Mofya highlighted the longstanding role of the Catholic Church in national development, citing its investment in hospitals, schools, and orphanages that serve Zambians of all backgrounds and beliefs. He urged the public to reflect on what he described as Kalesha’s questionable motives and to consider the true meaning of service.

‎He further emphasised that while governments and leadership may change over time, the Church and its mission remain constant. According to him, those called to ministry must prioritise serving God and His people, rather than pursuing personal interests.

‎Fr. Mofya also reaffirmed the Church’s stance on Bill 7, stating that they remain firmly opposed to it, as they believe it is not in the best interest of the Zambian people.
