Floods Devastate Muombo Village, After Torrential Rains.

Abraham Mutale ,a resident of Muombo village has disclosed the flooding to ZANIS in a telephone interview. 

Mr Mutale explained that the floods have washed away ,the community bridge on the Mfishe River .He added that the bridge was cardinal as it connects Muombo and Chilombwa villages. 

He further said ,the damage of the bridge has negatively impacted the delivery of education and health services in the area.

"Pupils and teachers from Chilombwa are unable, to cross to the other side where the school is located, "Mr Mutale said. 

Mr Mutale also added that a boat that was donated in the area,in 2019 has also been damaged. 

"We appeal to the government to assist us with another boat,as we await for the construction of a permanent bridge to safeguard lives," he said.

Meanwhile he has also appealed to the government to come to their aid ,after the cassava fields submerged in water raising fears of hunger in the community.
