FAZ CALLS FOR IMMEDIATE WORLD CUP PREPARATIONS FOR COPPER PRINCESSES
FAZ General Secretary Charles Chakatazya has urged the Copper Princesses technical bench to submit a detailed preparation plan ahead of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup after Zambia secured its third consecutive qualification to the tournament.
Speaking when he welcomed the team back from Ethiopia, Mr. Chakatazya congratulated the players and technical staff for the achievement but stressed the need for immediate preparations as the global competition draws closer.
The Carol Kanyemba-coached side qualified for the World Cup after drawing 1-1 with Ethiopia in Addis Ababa, advancing 3-2 on aggregate following a 2-1 first-leg victory in Ndola. Zambia scored 12 goals and conceded three during the qualification campaign, eliminating Rwanda, DR Congo and Ethiopia.
The Copper Princesses returned to Zambia early this morning aboard Ethiopian Airlines, with FAZ officials including Deputy General Secretary Iva Lengwe and Head of Media and Communication Nkweto Tembwe present to welcome the team.
