Culture is an Opportunity to Feel the Breath of Another People”: Experts of WPA Presented Practices of Public Diplomacy

At the First World Public Assembly "New World of Conscious Unity", the panel session “Culture as the Basis of Trust on the Path to a Harmonious World” underscored culture’s role as a living language of trust, capable of uniting nations where politics often divides.
Alena Dolgopolova, State Secretary of the World Peoples Assembly, set the tone by reminding that culture—despite being politicized—remains “the soft power that leads to peace and harmony.”
Voices from across the globe emphasized the universality of cultural exchange:
-
Juan Miguel Diaz Ferrer (Venezuela) highlighted preserving historical memory as key to mutual respect.
-
Roberto D’Agostino (Italy) called culture “the diplomacy of the human heart.”
-
David Henderson-Stewart (UK) linked cultural branding to trust and identity.
-
Hélène Perroux (France) reflected on Franco-German reconciliation through cultural exchange.
-
Debing Liu (China) stressed the Belt and Road Initiative’s cultural dimension.
-
Samir Jamai (Morocco) emphasized fashion, music, and art as universal languages.
-
Anastasia Pavlova (Russia) presented her “Geniuses of the World” project as a cultural bridge.
-
Nurzhamal Usenbayeva (Kazakhstan & Tatarstan) reminded that a single song can build more trust than years of negotiations.
The session concluded with a clear message: culture is not only heritage but also a living force of diplomacy, scaling trust from local communities to global partnerships.
