CSC Extends Health Workers’ Verification Deadline to October 9

The Civil Service Commission has extended the deadline for verification of applications under the recruitment of 2,600 health workers from September 11 to October 9, 2026.

Civil Service Commission Chairperson Dr. Choolwe Beyani announced the extension during a media briefing in Lusaka on Friday, saying the decision had been made following concerns from applicants over the limited time initially provided for the exercise.

Dr. Beyani said some applicants had also raised concerns over the logistical and financial challenges involved in travelling to Provincial and District Health Offices to verify their details.

Under the revised arrangement, medical doctors and pharmacists will verify their applications at Provincial Health Offices, while applicants in other health-professional categories will undertake the exercise at District Health Offices.

The verification exercise is intended to confirm the accuracy and completeness of information submitted by applicants during the recruitment process.

Dr. Beyani said applicants will be required to verify details including their personal information, academic and professional qualifications, positions applied for, professional registration details where applicable, and other supporting documents.

He explained that the exercise was initially scheduled to run from September 1 to 11, but commenced on September 2 following the declaration of September 1 as a public holiday for the Presidential Inauguration Ceremony.

Dr. Beyani further clarified that verification is not mandatory, stressing that applicants who choose not to verify their details will not, on that basis alone, be disadvantaged in the recruitment process.

He has since urged applicants who wish to verify their information to take advantage of the extended period and follow the official guidance provided by the Civil Service Commission.

The Commission has also directed Provincial and District Human Resource Officers under the Ministry of Health to provide applicants with the necessary assistance and guidance throughout the verification exercise.

The recruitment exercise is part of Government’s plans to strengthen the health sector by addressing staffing needs across the country.
