Amatheon Agri Zambia launches Community Livestock Centre in Mumbwa

AMATHEON Agri Zambia has launched and opened a community livestock centre to provide extension services to small holder farmers.
And Livestock and Fisheries Deputy Minister Lawrence Evans says Livestock is a key component in the development of the agricultural sector in Zambia.
Speaking when he commissioned the Amatheon Agri Community Livestock centre in Mumbwa district on Tuesday, 17th November, 2015, Evans said his ministry aims at providing an enabling environment that was conducive for sustainable production of high quality marketable fisheries and livestock products.
“The government will continue with the construction of Livestock service centres throughout the country which are intended to provide extension services such as dipping, spraying, vaccinations, artificial insemination, de-worming, branding and castration” Evans stated.
Meanwhile, Amatheon Agri Zambia Managing Director Troy Minne says the Livestock centre has the capacity to support around 8,000 cattle.
