More Rains Coming Says The Zambian Meteorological Department

The Zambia Meteorological Department has announced that most parts of the country are expected to experience rainfall over the next seven days, with the exception of the Southern and Western provinces.
Senior Meteorologist Peggy Thole has warned that the forecasted rains may lead to flooding, posing risks to both infrastructure and agricultural activities. She emphasized that excessive rainfall could result in damage to crops, particularly in areas where fields are already saturated.
Ms. Thole has urged farmers to take precautionary measures to secure their harvested crops and protect them from potential losses due to waterlogging and flooding. She also advised communities in flood-prone areas to remain alert and take necessary safety precautions.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has assured the public that it will continue monitoring weather patterns and providing timely updates to ensure that people are well-informed and can take appropriate action.
Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to stay updated with weather forecasts and heed warnings issued by relevant authorities to mitigate the impact of the anticipated rains.
