Copper Queens Suffer Disappointed Loss in Three Nations Series Finale

The Copper Queens concluded the inaugural Three Nations series with a disappointing 2-0 loss to hosts Banyana Banyana at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville.

Despite high expectations, the Copper Queens' star players failed to deliver. The first half was barren, with the team failing to showcase their usual prowess. The second half saw a significant drop in performance, with the frontline and midfield struggling to make an impact.

Two defensive lapses proved costly, as Lebohang Gamede opened the scoring in the 74th minute. Jermaine Seoposenwe sealed the win for Banyana Banyana eight minutes later, extending the lead to 2-0.

The Copper Queens needed a win to claim the tournament title, having been held 1-1 by Botswana in the first match. In contrast, the hosts only required a draw after their 3-2 win over Botswana. The three nations are gearing up for the Women's African Cup of Nations in Morocco.
