THINKING ABOUT YOU CHILDREN

Thinking about you children
I stayed awake all night
Writing poetry to touch
The hearts of those that
Could probably help you
And imagine your pain
Those that condemned
You to such suffering
I told them it’s inhuman
How you go hungry
Hunting for what to eat
In bins and rubbish pits
While they watch
How you dress rags
And shiver to cold
But they do nothing
I stayed awake coining
Words that could
Communicate to their hearts
And call them to duty
So they could help you
Out of hunger and
Make you a future free
Of poverty and deprivation
And desperation
You the children are
The future and you
All deserve good childhood
I stayed awake all night
Writing poetry to touch
The hearts of those that
Could probably help you
And imagine your pain
Those that condemned
You to such suffering
I told them it’s inhuman
How you go hungry
Hunting for what to eat
In bins and rubbish pits
While they watch
How you dress rags
And shiver to cold
But they do nothing
I stayed awake coining
Words that could
Communicate to their hearts
And call them to duty
So they could help you
Out of hunger and
Make you a future free
Of poverty and deprivation
And desperation
You the children are
The future and you
All deserve good childhood
