The Coalition against ISIL

The coalition against ISIL:Martin Luther King Jr. and John Perkins believed that hatred and bitterness can never cure the disease of fear; only love can do that. Hatred paralyses life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; loved illumines it.
The coalition against ISIL, to what end? Martin Luther King Jr. would say that the real goal is not to just defeat ISIL but to awaken a sense of shame within the oppressor and challenge his sense of superiority...the end is reconciliation (if possible); the end is the creation of the beloved community. And this is exactly what he himself did in the 1960s.
There is something about this coalition which says to us, that we shall overcome. Before the victory is won some may have to get scarred up. Before the victory of brotherhood is achieved, some will maybe face physical death. Before the victory is won, some will lose their jobs, some will be called puppets, and oppressors, merely because they believe in brotherhood, some will be dismissed as dangerous rabble-rousers and agitators merely because they’re standing up for what is right, but it shall all be overcome. That is the basis of this movement.
There is something in this universe that justifies Fr. Laurence Kettle and William Cullen Bryant in saying truth crushed to earth shall rise again.
“We aim to overcome the oppressor by total degradation and destruction of all their forces. We will not rest until ISIL has been completely wiped out and eradicated.” US Commander in Chief, Barack Obama, addressed at a press conference. It’s like the fight between Good and Evil, fighting evil with good.
