TEACHERS EMPOWERED WITH NEW SKILLS

Nsama District Education Board has embarked on a three day teacher training workshop for all teachers in the district to be equipped with implementing skills for new school curriculum which was provided by government two years ago.
Nsama district education board secretary Beatus Nsenda said government has provided guidelines to teachers on the implementation of the new curriculum in order to improve education standards in the country.
Mr Nshenda further said the guidelines will fill in the gaps and lapses which the department faced and empower the teaching fraternity to deliver quality education to pupils.
Teachers talked to participating in the workshop explained how the training will be of benefit to their career. Barbara Chiluba from Nsama primary school is confident that the skills acquired will create an easy learning process to her pupils and she is hopeful that the education standards will improve compared to the past years.
And Basic Education Teachers Union district secretary Jeff Kaputa hails the government on the initiative taken to empower teachers in the district with relevant knowledge and skills. He added that this will reduce challenges teachers had in understanding teaching materials and how to implement them.
