PRETENSE AND HYPOCRISY TOWARDS THE DECEASED

Pretense and hypocrisy are two very bad things. And here in our country these two things sky rocket especially when there is a funeral. The departed is greatly praised and expressed and described and appreciated in an extra-ordinary, exaggerated way. You will think everyone loved them, you will think they had no enemies. People appreciate them by uttering words of praise and exaltation. The words of which if the deceased heard when they were alive, they could live a happier life. They could have felt important.
Having talked about pretense and hypocrisy let’s turn the coin to the other side. Should this tradition stop, the answer is, yes. Then does it mean those people who might have had issues with the deceased should voice out negatively. You know they say the truth hates and especially in occasions such as funerals, is it wise to speak out your mind if you aren’t saying a good thing about the deceased.
As much as it is not good to pretend as though you were in good books, as though you were best of friends with the decease, it’s bad to speak negative things about them on the funeral. So if you don’t have something good to say, it’s prudent to keep quiet and say nothing. Neither make the deceased a hero nor zero. And we must learn to forgive and forget. It’s amazing that some people would keep grudges with dead ones.
we must always remember we are Christians, in all we do, in how we behave and conduct ourselves. in what we say and how we react at all times. lets try to live the word christian in words and deeds.
