Police Officer Facing Court Charges For Aggravated Robbery

A police officer is facing legal allegations, accused of collaborating with three others to rob a man of US$250,000 and K200,000 in cash.
Court records identify the officer as 42-year-old Humphrey Misale from Chamba Valley.
The other individuals involved are 27-year-old Allan Lyamba and 30-year-old Moses Chiluba, both from Lilayi, along with 44-year-old Michael Walawala from Chongwe.
All four are charged with two counts of aggravated robbery.
The allegations state that between March 1 and 2, 2025, Misale, Lyamba, Chiluba, and Walawala, armed with an unidentified firearm, stole US$250,000 from Moses Muyamburi Sakutombo.
It is claimed that during this robbery, the defendants either threatened or used violence to take the money from Mr. Sakutombo and to prevent any resistance.
Additionally, it is asserted that on the same dates, the group, while armed, stole K200,000 from the same victim using similar tactics of intimidation or force.
The accused previously appeared before Lusaka Chief Resident Magistrate Davies Chibwili, who assigned the case to Lusaka Magistrate Mwandu Sakala.
They are expected to enter their pleas today regarding this non-bailable felony charge.
