LCC Builds New Police Facilities to Curb Rising Crime
The Lusaka City Council (LCC) has reaffirmed its commitment to reducing crime in the capital by strengthening crime-prevention measures, including the construction of new police stations funded through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
LCC Public Relations Manager Chola Mwamba said the ongoing investment in law-enforcement infrastructure reflects the Council’s determination to enhance public safety for both residents and visitors.
“This initiative underscores the Council’s commitment to enhancing security and ensuring the safety of residents and visitors,” Ms Mwamba said.
She disclosed that the latest additions to the city’s policing facilities include the newly constructed Lubwa Police Station in Lusaka Central Constituency and the Mwembeshi Police Post in Matero Constituency.
The two facilities were built at a cost of K2,205,334.51 and K399,172.04, respectively adding that they are yet to be commissioned.
"Several other police facilities are currently under construction or undergoing rehabilitation, these include Mwembeshi Main, Long Acres, Mapoloto, and Kuku police posts." Ms Mwamba said.
