K20,000 bride price scares away man

A lady has considered dumping her boyfriend after he refused to pay more than 20 000 Kwacha bride price.
The anonymous lady wrote on Tina Banda’s Real Life and Hot Issues Discussion Forum Facebook page yesterday that she had earlier mistaken the man’s comment for a joke until he said it repeatedly.
The lady who claims to have a degree said she had asked her mother the day before yesterday who said she would charge about 20 000 Kwacha.
“So I told him abt that the first thing he said. Was ‘who are you’ and added on to say ‘it won’t be possible then’…” , the lady wrote.
She further said she asked him what he had meant and that his reply was he could never pay so much for a woman, saying it was her marriage too.
“…and the other suggestion was that I help him pay and I told him I cn never do that,” she disclosed.
The lady argued that if the man loved her he would go earth and moon to seek money and pay in installments but her boyfriend insisted that it was impossible unless it had been 10000 Kwacha or less.
The lady said she was a first born daughter and had started to think she could not marry the man who did not understand her worth as a degree holder , hence seeking Facebook advice.
Jessy Zimba advised the lady not to listen to the man saying if she were to be sold, her price could be over 20000 Kwacha.
“Even saying ‘mutengo wakolola’,you are not worth more than all the corollas in the world,” Zimba added.
Zimba observed that the lady’s degree was her first husband and that she would meet an appreciative man.
And Lazarus Lozzie Nkhoswe suggested that the lady was Tonga by tribe.
“…ma sissy got a phd in Australia married a teacher who was charged 13 bt paid 10 pin #Jessy mula cnt buy happiness 20 pin z muc is he marin dat dgr? ” , he asked .
