IG Urges Police To Apply Emergency Reponse Skills.
Mr Musamba made the call on October 15, 2026, during the closing ceremony of the training held at the National Command Centre.
In a speech delivered on his behalf by Assistant Commissioner of Police Elizabeth Kalala, Assistant Director of Schools Liaison, Mr Musamba stressed the need for participants to translate the knowledge gained into practical skills.
“It is important that the knowledge acquired during these two phases is translated into practical skills that will enhance our collective ability to protect lives and property,” he said.
He commended Campus Crusade for Christ and Be the One Change Maker Ministry of Canada for supporting and facilitating the training programme.
“Your commitment to building the capacity of our officers and emergency responders is highly commendable,” Mr Musamba said.
Meanwhile, representative of the two organisations, Jesse Kurtz, said coordinated efforts were essential in reducing the impact of emergencies.
Mr Kurtz said the organisations were grateful for the opportunity to share their knowledge and expertise in emergency response with the Zambia Police Service.
The training brought together officers from the Zambia Police Service and firefighters from Lusaka City Council, with the aim of strengthening inter-agency coordination in emergency response and incident management.
