Icu Road Maintenance Brings Hope To Students And Vendors.

The road connecting the main road to the Information and Communications University (ICU) campus has been plagued by stagnant water from recent rains, causing difficulties for students, vendors, and motorists. However, a recent initiative to maintain the road has brought relief to many.
A local road vendor expressed gratitude for the ongoing repairs, noting how the water had severely impacted business. "Sales have been slow because of the stagnant water from the rains. Many of my customers struggled to reach my table, and this is my source of income. I truly appreciate the person who has taken the initiative to fix the road," the vendor said.
ICU student Isaac Banda also welcomed the repairs, explaining the struggles students faced due to the poor road conditions. "It was difficult for us to reach campus because of the stagnant water and potholes. Even when we booked a Yango, drivers would drop us off at Wisdomwood instead of taking us all the way to campus, fearing damage to their vehicles," he said.
A motorist passing by commended the effort but emphasized the need for proper drainage. "Whoever is fixing the road has done a great job, but they should also consider adding drainage systems. Here in Zambia, we often struggle to maintain roads because of poor planning and a lack of proper drainage," the driver noted.
