They, an anonymous Kafue family, said that every Sunday is family barbeque for them and everyone is always invited to it. Everyone gets to have fun each Sunday having everything they need, family down to the beer and wine. They explained that BARBEQUE is something that has brought their family together and strengthened the bond of family between members. It was something that never ever used to happen before until one family member died from schizophrenia a few years ago.
Now it is the happiest family one could ever dream of having. Sunday afternoons are reserved for this one occasion, chicken, duck, pork or beef barbeque. And the men take turns every Sunday to serve everybody. Sometimes they invite neighbors or close friends. This specific household has become an ideal example for family life in Kafue.
At this graceful occasion it’s all smiles from the youngest member to the oldest granny. And during and after this amazing celebration everyone seems to be hugging each other often while cordially exchanging some light dialogue with one another. It’s fun to watch them disperse. Everybody says goodbye to everybody else and it ritual-like takes a while for them to finish.
