“DECENTRALIZE EXAM SETTING”

According to Joshua Jere a ZNBC reporter, Great North Academy Proprietor, Rozias Siatwaambo has proposed a decentralised setting of school examinations, in order to curb cases of leakage.
Dr Siatwaambo who is also school books author, said in an interview that by decentralising the setting of examinations to the provincial regions, cases of leakages can be minimised.
He proposed that each province should set its own examinations, so that if there is a leakage, only regions where this has happened will be affected, unlike currently, where the country has been affected.
And Dr Siatwaambo says it is unfortunate that the entire country has now been affected by the leakages, prompting the ministry of general education to suspend the exams.
He has further appealed to government to stiffen the laws on both teachers and pupils who are caught with leakages to jail terms.
On Tuesday, General education Minister, David Mabumba announced the indefinite suspension of the 2018 Grade 7, 9 and 12 examinations as well as nullification of the Mathematics Paper 2 for grade 9’s, which had leaked through social media.
