Clergyman Raises Concerns Over Drug Pilfering in Zambia

A clergyman in Kasama District, Pastor Chati Kasengele, has expressed deep concern over the theft of essential drugs in Zambia, which has resulted in the United States cutting $50 million in medication and medical supplies support to the country.
Pastor Kasengele described the situation as worrisome, stating that it will have a negative impact on many Zambians. He called on the government to take immediate action and ensure that anyone involved in the pilfering of drugs faces punitive measures.
A concerned resident, Mr. Pethias Mwamba, has also weighed in on the issue, calling on the government to thoroughly investigate the Ministry of Health and bring those responsible for the theft to justice. Mr. Mwamba expressed disappointment over the alleged barbaric behavior within the ministry, which has brought shame to the nation.
Mr. Mwamba warned that such acts of corruption could lead to other developed nations losing confidence in Zambia and reducing or cutting off aid. The incident highlights the need for transparency and accountability in the management of public resources, particularly in the health sector.
The clergyman and resident's concerns underscore the importance of addressing corruption and ensuring that essential drugs reach those in need.
