CHIYOTA YOUTH RESOURCE CENTRE RECEIVES ICT EQUIPMENT.

On Tuesday, 21 May 2024, the Minister of Youth, Sports, and Arts, Elvis Nkandu, officiated at a handover ceremony of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) equipment to the CHIYOTA Youth Resource Centre in Rufunsa district, Lusaka province.
Accompanied by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Kangwa Chileshe, Mr. Nkandu handed over a computer lab comprising 30 desktop computers, 30 monitors, 16 touchscreen laptops, 2 printers, 30 headsets, 30 webcams, 1 projector, and a Starlink internet connection.
He emphasized that the government, with support from the United Nations, has worked diligently to equip the centre with the latest ICT infrastructure, fostering learning and innovation through easy access to information.
"The government recognizes the youth as the majority of Zambia's population and reiterates its commitment to improving the welfare of the youth by upgrading youth resource centers through skills development investment," said Nkandu.
Mr. Nkandu urged the youth to utilize the opportunities and facilities provided by the government at youth resource centers.
