Chimwemwe Hospital Trains Health Workers In Emergency Maternal Care

Chimwemwe Level 2 Hospital is conducting a seven-day onsite Abridged Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (EmNOC) training for 15 healthcare workers, including 13 midwives and two doctors.

Six local trainers from Kitwe Teaching Hospital, Kitwe District Health Office and Chimwemwe Level 2 Hospital are facilitating the training to equip healthcare workers with knowledge and practical skills to recognise and manage obstetric and newborn emergencies.

“EmNOC training is vital in strengthening the capacity of healthcare workers to act promptly and confidently during life-threatening emergencies,” the hospital said. The training is aimed at improving the quality of maternal and newborn care and contributing to the reduction of maternal and perinatal mortality.
