Mongu December 12/2017-ZANIS---A 37 year old man of Lusende village in chief Imamuna in Mongu district of Western Province has appeared in Mongu Magistrate Court for trafficking in narcotic substance drugs.
The case came up for trial before Mongu Magistrate Court today in which Pelekelo Wambo 34 was charged with one count of trading in 297 grams of psychotropic substances contrary to section(6) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act 96 Number 119 of 1975.
It is alleged that on unknown date but between 1st and 3rd December 2017, Mongu Drugs Enforcement Commission (DEC) conducted a routine search in the house of Pelekelo Wambo after receiving a tip off from concerned residents about his illicit trade.
And Mongu Magistrate Court Albert Kongwa said it was during that time when DEC found contrabands of Marijuana in the house of Wambo that led to his apprehension and was taken to Mongu Central Police Station for further investigation.
Mr. Kongwa told the court that upon being warned and cautioned by state prosecutors in the local language- Silozi which he would understand well, Pelekelo Wambo readily admitted the felony and has since pleaded guilty.
In mitigation, Wambo asked the court to exercise leniency on him as he was taking care of his aged chronically ill parents, saying if custodian sentence was imposed on him his parents would suffer.
But the court adjourned the case to tomorrow 13th December 2017 for further re- consideration of the case and verdict.
In another development, a 33 year old student of Mongu Trades Training Institute is facing three counts in the Mongu Magistrate Court for obtaining money by false pretence.
These are cases in which Felix Mbomena is alleged to have obtained money worth K4, 900 on false charges from three prospected teachers in Mongu as inevitable condition on one’s appointment as a teacher.

In the second count, Mbomena on the 5th September deceitfully obtained money worth K1, 500 from Namakau Mulonda as a condition for her to be recruited in the teaching service.
In the third count, Mbomena on 9th September 2017 went and solicited money amounting to over K2, 000 cash from Ndelai Misheck a Mongu resident on pretence that it was a requirement by the Teaching Service Commission for him to be appointed as a teacher.
