Altai Becomes Symbol of Dialogue and Unity at World Public Assembly

Moscow, Russia - 2025

Experts and cultural leaders gathered at the First World Public Assembly underscored the growing importance of Altai as a humanitarian and civilizational platform for Eurasia. The Round Table session, titled “Altai as the Junction of Civilizational Worlds,” explored the region’s unique role in fostering dialogue, integration, and cultural co-creation.

“Altai is more of a historical and civilizational concept than a purely geographical one,” emphasized Dr. Anatoly Yegorov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, recalling the depth of heritage the region contributes to modernity.

Located at the intersection of Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and China, Altai is not only a geostrategic hub but also a cultural and spiritual treasure trove. Leaders highlighted its role as a cradle of civilizations where religions, traditions, and languages intertwine.

Kan-ool Davaa, Chairman of the Supreme Khural of Tuva, noted that territories like Tuva, Altai, and Khakassia preserve the essence of ancient Turkic nomadic civilization, helping safeguard national identities today.

Alexander Zhirkov, First Deputy Chairman of the Il Tumen of Yakutia, urged a shift in global thinking: “It is time for humanity to move from the practice of building a world based on wars to a world of conscious unity, to a civilization of meanings.”

Speakers also recalled the influence of Vladimir Vernadsky’s noospheric concept, Lev Gumilev’s theory of ethnogenesis, and Nicholas Roerich’s Eurasianist humanism, all of which are deeply tied to Altai. Their intellectual legacies, participants said, continue to provide tools for building a more humane and balanced world order.

Guzel Maitdinova, Director of the Center for Geopolitical Studies at the Russian-Tajik University, stressed that a “civilizational approach” within Eurasia could create sustainable and fair models of cooperation.

The forum moderator, Ivan Belekov, Adviser to the Head of the Altai Republic, underlined the humanitarian mission: “The main purpose of the meeting was to draw the attention of the world and Russian public to the most important humanitarian issues of modern civilization.”

The session concluded with the recognition of Altai as a symbol of unity and dialogue, not just for Russia but for the entire Eurasian space. Participants agreed on the creation of an “Altai vector of Eurasian integration,” embodying the spiritual energy of creation as the foundation for harmonious coexistence.
