11 KILLED IN FIRE AT ALGIERS FOSTER CARE FACILITY
Eleven people have died after a fire broke out at a foster care facility in Algiers, Algeria. The country’s Civil Protection Department says 19 others were injured in the blaze.
Firefighters were still working to contain the fire in the early hours of Thursday morning. Authorities have not yet released details on the ages of those who died or were injured.
The Civil Protection Department says five people with special needs were rescued and taken to a safe location. Investigations into the cause of the fire are underway.
