ZCSA Seizes 282 Crates of Expired Mosi Light Beer in Ndola

The Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency (ZCSA) has seized 282 crates of expired Mosi Light beer from a named distributor in Ndola, valued at K78,960.00.
ZCSA Manager for Communication and Public Relations, Brian Hatyoka, said the seizure followed a tip-off from a whistleblower in Pamodzi Township, Ndola, regarding the sale of expired clear beer. This violates the Zambian Standard ZS 430: Clear Beer Specification and the Compulsory Standards Act No. 3 of 2017.
The agency has since restricted the products pending disposal, in line with its mandate to protect consumers as provided by the Compulsory Standards Act.
Mr. Hatyoka warned that ZCSA will take punitive action against suppliers of non-compliant products, emphasizing that such goods pose a threat to public health and safety.
He further urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious products covered under compulsory standards to the nearest ZCSA office.
In a related development, Mr. Hatyoka disclosed that the agency recently disposed of 1,610 cases of non-compliant Royal Sachet Water, which had been seized from the Precision Royal Beverages Limited factory last year after the completion of administrative procedures.
