Zambia Falls to Niger, Ends World Cup Qualification Hopes

Zambia's journey in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification process has come to an end, after a 1-0 defeat to Niger at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
The loss marks a disappointing conclusion to Zambia's campaign, with Niger scoring the decisive goal in the second half. Despite their efforts, the Chipolopolo couldn't find an equalizer, ultimately conceding defeat.
This loss follows Zambia's earlier win against Tanzania on October 8, 2025, where they secured a 1-0 victory. Although Zambia showed promise in their qualifying campaign, they ultimately fell short of securing a spot in the World Cup.
With this defeat, Zambia's focus will shift to preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Morocco this December.
