POLICE RESCUE TEEN GIRL FROM VIOLENT NALOLO MOB.
Police in Nalolo District have rescued a 16-year-old girl from a violent mob after she was accused of stealing K200.
The incident happened around 22:30 hours on March 31, 2026, in Mushukula Section of Muoyo Royal Village. Western Division Police Commissioner Rae Hamoonga says the juvenile, of Kandiana Village in Chief Nalopu’s area, was attacked by community members who suspected her of theft, with the situation quickly escalating into mob violence.
Mr. Hamoonga says police responded to a distress call and rescued the girl, placing her in protective custody at Nalolo Police Station. However, the mob followed and began throwing stones, attempting to force entry into the station, prompting officers to fire warning shots to restore order. Three suspects have since been arrested, while investigations continue. Police have condemned the incident, urging the public to report suspected crimes through lawful channels instead of taking the law into their own hands.
