Hichilema Launches 'Imisepela' App to Create Job Opportunities for Zambian Youth
President Hakainde Hichilema has fulfilled his promise to Zambian youth with the official launch of a new digital platform aimed at connecting young people to employment opportunities.
The Head of State launched the "Imisepela Opportunities" App yesterday in Solwezi, where he graced the 2026 Youth Day celebrations held under the theme "Arise and Soar."
Speaking during the launch, President Hichilema described the App as a tool for empowering young Zambians and encouraged them to harness digital spaces productively.
"Use social media properly. Don't use social media to propagate lies and criminality, use it to look for business opportunities, and that is why we have set up Imisepela, for job opportunities from today," Mr Hichilema said.
He confirmed the platform is immediately operational: "It (the App) is live, go on there, seek opportunities on the digital space called Imisepela Opportunities for you the youth of Zambia."
The launch follows his commitment made last week during the National Youth Indaba in Lusaka, where he assured delegates the App would be ready for Youth Day.
The President further urged young people to embrace entrepreneurship and hard work while contributing to national development without tribal divisions.
"Let us be entrepreneurial and hardworking, let us innovate and do so without tribal connotation, do not allow anybody to divide this country, 10 provinces," he emphasized.
The Imisepela App is now active and available for Zambian youth seeking job and skills development opportunities.
