Copperbelt Students Praise Education Reforms
Students from 20 higher learning institutions on the copperbelt have praised President Hakainde Hichilema for improving infrastructure and student welfare in the education sector.
Speaking during a press briefing in kitwe National council for students Vice Chairperson Lloyd Nsonga said government has supported vulnerable learners.
"Bursaries have been provided to vulnerable students and meal allowances have been restored.This helped many students continue with studies," Nsonga said.
He added that stalled infrastructure projects at universities and colleges have been completed.
Copperbelt university students union President Given Chipewo also welcomed the support.
"Under the CBU challenge,the president provided a bus and an ambulance , to our institution which has improved services for students," he said.
Meanwhile,Tryphena Chisha from Nkana college of nursing said the recruitment of over 30,000 health workers has created hope for nursing students.
The students said the reforms have improved learning conditions and student welfare across their institutions.
